COVID-19 Update & In-Person Worship Info

Last Updated 7/24/2020

Due to Social Distancing requirements imposed by state officials and the Diocese of Rhode Island, we have had to make many changes to the way we worship and gather together in ministry and fellowship. Below is the most up-to-date information about these changes. Please check this page periodically as the information is always subject to change.

In-Person Worship

As of August 2nd, we will resume in-person worship in limited capacity for those who feel comfortable attending. Under state and diocesan mandates, our church is capable of accomodating approximately 25 families, each in their own socially distanced pew with a maximum of 40 people total.

In-person worship is available via reservation only. You may reserve a spot online or contact the parish office.

Please wear a mask and follow the directions of the greeters and Rev. Johanna during the service. For further information about how in-person worship will operate, please see our worship page. We ask that you also maintain a safe social distance outside the church if waiting to go inside.

Online Worship Services via Zoom

Our weekly worship services will continue online using the Zoom videoconferencing platform. This has been an enriching and wonderful experience with over 60 callers (about 70-80 people) gathering and participating each week. We have added a projector display in the church so that our in-person attendees can see those who are worshipping online.

There is currently a single Worship Service at 9:00am on Sunday mornings. All are welcome. Links to the Zoom service are sent-out via our parish email mailing list each Friday. If you are not on our parish mailing list, please contact the parish office.

Parish Offices

Our parish offices are now open during most of our normal office hours. Visitors to our office for any purpose must sign-in using the log book at the entrance, wear a mask, utilize the hand sanitizer provided, and practice proper social distancing as detailed in the Governor’s guidelines.

All Other Meetings and Gatherings

At this time, the majority of our regular meetings and gatherings are still meeting online via Zoom, including Bible Study, Vestry Meetings, Choir gatherings, and more. Those attending church in-person are welcome to attend Bible Study in the church following the service.

The best way to keep informed of upcoming meetings is to be added to our parish email mailing list. If you are not on our parish mailing list, please contact the parish office. Meetings are also posted to the calendar on our homepage but Zoom links are distributed via the email mailing list.

Food Closet

Our Food Closet is continuing to serve families in the wider Scituate community each Thursday from 9am to 11am. We are able to welcome a few clients at a time into the closet to choose your own groceries, so please remain outside and enter when directed by a volunteer. If you still would prefer curbside service, please just give us a call ahead of time and let us know.

All visitors to the Food Closet are subject to state COVID safety and contact tracing guidelines.:

  • You must wear a mask
  • Upon entering, you will be asked to sign the log book
  • Please use the provided hand sanitizer
  • Please remain socially distance from other clients and volunteers during your visit
  • Due to state guidelines, we are unable to make use of your reusable shopping bag

If you or someone you know is in need of food assistance, please contact the parish office in advance so that we know to expect you. As a member of the Rhode Island Food Bank, our Food Closet serves all people in Scituate, Foster, and Glocester without regard for religious affiliation.
