Reservoir 5k Walk/Run

We’re thrilled to once again host the annual Milt Schumacher Memorial 5K Reservoir Walk/Run event supporting the Trinity Food Pantry. In 2025, the event was re-christened in honor of a beloved parish member who loved nature, walking, and running. That makes this the 2nd Annual event, though the walk/run has been around in different formats for many years.
This annual tradition is one of the few opportunities for the public to access the reservoir property and see this beautiful treasure close-up. The Providence Water Supply Board generously grants us special access for the event.

About Milt Schumacher
Milt Schumacher, a long-time Situate resident, organized an event called “Run the Reservoir” for 10 years. During that time, the event raised thousands of dollars for Trinity’s Food Pantry.
One of Milt’s greatest passions was running, which he discovered later in life. He joined the Rhode Island Road runners and made a group of lifelong friends who would push each other to new achievements. He ran countless road races and frequently finishing at or near the top of his age group. He participated in races across the country, including the Boston Marathon.
Milt was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and sadly, passed away in 2024. This event is intended to honor his memory and continue his legacy
