News From our Food Pantry
As we come to the end of 2025, we’d like to take a moment to recognize some of the recent happenings at our Food Pantry and thank all who helped to make this vital community ministry possible.
Nearly 70 Christmas Baskets Distributed
On December 20th, volunteers from our Food Pantry and the Scituate Rotary Club packed and distributed nearly 70 Christmas “Baskets” for those in need in our community. The baskets contained fresh vegetables and all the makings of a holiday meal as well as a $15 grocery card/coupon towards a turkey or preferred protein. We feel so very blessed to be able to offer this additional service during the holidays. This wouldn’t be possible without support from our surrounding community, as well as those from Rockland Community Church, who regularly donate a large portion of the items that go into the holiday baskets. This Christmas, they donated over 400 pounds of dry goods. Thank you, Rockland!

Large Donations
It’s common for us to receive large donations during the holiday season from various groups who sponsor food drives. Here are just a few groups who donated this season:
- North Scituate Elementary School
- Clayville Elementary School
- Ocean State Equine Associates
- Several Individual Contributors
- Scituate Scouting Troops
- Parish Members of Trinity (via our “Little Red Wagon”)
A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated, whether your donation was large or small. Every little bit helps. Remember that food is needed throughout the year and we expect 2026 to be a challenging one. If you or your organization are planning to run a food drive, please give us a heads-up by emailing foodpantry@trinitynorthscituate.org. One of our ministry volunteers will be happy to suggest items we’re in need of and coordinate a drop-off time.
Did you Know?
Trinity is a “Member Agency” of the RI Food Bank. You might have wondered what that means…. We’re part of a network of 137 nonprofit food pantries and meal sites that distribute perishable and nonperishable foods to clients in need. Our primary service area includes Scituate, Foster, Glocester, and Johnston.
While we are a ministry of Trinity Church, we serve all without regard for religious affiliation. The RI Food Bank allows us to supplement the food that is donated directly to us by providing additional food, either for free or at a deep discount. This keeps our shelves fully stocked and ensures a good variety of healthful choices.
Ways to Support Us
There are a number of ways you can help support our Food Pantry ministry:
- Donate Food – Nonperishable items may be dropped-off whenever the Food Pantry or Thrift Shop are open. Additionally, they can be placed in the “Red Wagon” at the back of the church before or after services. (See the footer of our website for hours).
- Donate Money – Monetary donations are used to supplement donated non-perishables and keep our pantry stocked with a wide variety of healthy options.
- Volunteer to Serve – We are always in need of help, whether it’s stocking shelves, picking-up bulk donations, or assisting clients on the day we’re open. We have all kinds of jobs to fit your availability! If you feel you would like to serve, please email us at foodpantry@trinitynorthscituate.org or call the parish office and leave a message.
- Host a Food Drive – If you, your family, business, or organization would like to host a food drive, reach out to us and let us know. We’d be happy to suggest times of the year when we have the greatest need as well as items we happen to be in need of.
Donate Securely Online. Be sure to choose “Food Pantry” from the drop-down so your donation gets to the right place.
