Summer of Hope Food Drive is a Success!

For the third year in a row, Trinity participated in the Summer of Hope food drive, sponsored by New Day Planning – Thrivent, Cindy’s Diner & Restaurant, and Feed RI.

Each year, we help by distributing bags to collect food and our community members fill them generously. Bags are dropped-off at Cindy’s, who provide all donors with a delicious meal to say thank you.

While the final numbers aren’t in yet, this year’s drive filled over FOUR WATERMELON boxes on pallets and the event has typically required them to send a full-sized box truck for pickup.

Summer of Hope seeks to help fill kids’ stomachs over the summer when they don’t have regular access to the school lunch program. The program serves the top 5 communities in RI with the most kids eligible for free lunch.
